Companies selected to present at the Michigan Growth Capital Symposium 2008 will be privately-held companies. Broadly defined, this includes IT/technology, life sciences, energy, services and other companies. Companies encouraged to apply include seed, early-stage, late-stage, and pre-IPO. Selected companies will be from a range of industries and stages of funding.
Presenting companies will be selected by a committee composed of qualified venture capitalists. The criteria by which each application will be evaluated and scored include: market opportunity, competitive advantages, intellectual property, financial projections and the quality and experience of the management team. Each of these criteria should be disclosed in the executive summary (four page maximum), which represents the corporate profile of the company. It is important to be as thorough and complete as possible when providing your executive summary. For your reference, attached is an executive summary outline.
Selected companies are expected to participate in a CEO Presentation Review scheduled one month prior to the conference. This one-hour session is aimed at helping presenting CEOs to refine and hone both their formal presentation and their presentation skills. There is no cost for presenters to attend the review session. More information about review dates and the schedule will be sent to selected companies.
The structure of the symposium in May will promote numerous networking opportunities for participating companies. The discounted registration fee of $295, applicable to selected companies and company staff members, provides admission to both days of the symposium along with reserved table top space for presenting companies to display their materials on the day the company is slotted to present
